We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team. The CFO will play a critical role in the overall strategic management of the company, including the planning, implementation, management, and control of all financial-related activities. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships, and partnership compliance. The CFO will be a part of the executive team and report directly to the CEO, providing strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, and management to the finance and accounting team.
- Develop and implement financial strategies, including risk management.
- Oversee the company's fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
- Advise the senior management team on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
- Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies.
- Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic direction.
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and consolidation, and oversee regular financial analysis.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process.
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Engage the board's audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery.
- Lead and participate in all financial operations including the company's budgeting, forecasting, and reporting functions.
- Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field. An MBA, CPA, or related designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a proven track record of success.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, managing and forecasting budgets, and financial analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and creative skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
- Strong understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.
- Strong experience in corporate governance, risk management, and compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and financial reporting software.
