The Chief Financial Officer will also have Corporate oversight as well as direct oversight of College Medical Center. The CFO protects the assets of the facility; manages and coordinates financial affairs; designs and implements systems to identify and control the income and expenditures within the hospital; consults with and advises administration regarding methods for generating increased revenues and controlling operational costs in relation to the long-term goals of the organization, the market trends, and the status of the community.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a Health System is not required. Hospital experience is a requirement for this role.
- A minimum of seven years of health care financial services experience, at or above supervisory level.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required
- Three years’ experience may be substituted with an MBA degree. Knowledge of computerized accounting systems is essential.

- Effectively manages the hospital's financial resources.
- Evaluates and recommends changes in rate structure.
- Evaluates and recommends organizational objectives relating to third party reimbursement.
- Directs establishment of appropriate records and reports in an effective manner.
- Ensures timely filing of federal, state, third party or other financial reports as required.
- Effectively contributes to studies of costs of benefits and wage programs.
- Performs or directs others to perform cost studies involving third parties with efficiency.
- Participates in documentation and analysis with auditing firm representatives in a timely manner.
- Maintains awareness of legal changes and trends through professional affiliations and effectively completes such changes.
- Reviews, interprets, analyzes, and clearly communicates financial reports and data to administration.
- Prepares periodic reports outlining hospital financial position in areas of assets, liabilities, income and expenses.
- Continuously reviews and modifies cost systems and data collection to assure maximum reimbursements.
- Makes appropriate decisions on rate setting and cost containment measures.
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CHE, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CHE in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
