You will be a key member of the Trust’s Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO and other Leaders to develop and implement strategy and to resource and deliver the organisation’s strategic objectives sustainably.
The CFO is expected to bring a modern, commercial approach to the leadership of the finance function, running it as a highly competent and efficient service with an emphasis on a proactive and customer-focused service. As well as ensuring the financial health of our organisation, you will bring experience of lateral thinking when it comes to realising the financial opportunities that we have within our Trust.
The CFO is directly responsible to the Chief Executive, who is the accounting officer for the Trust, and is ultimately responsible for the proper financial conduct of the institution. The CFO will provide advice on strategic financial issues and be responsible for financial management and for the leadership and management of the financial team.
We are passionate about why we exist as a Trust, and it’s important to us that our next CFO shares this passion and brings the necessary skills, knowledge, and expertise to enable us to keep making the biggest difference.
The CFO will be a professionally qualified accountant with significant experience of having operated at an Executive / Senior level. Experience in leading strategic financial planning, risk management, and reporting are the basic cornerstones of this role. We expect you to bring all the essential experience to help us remain financially secure and compliant, along with enthusiasm for working in close partnership with others, an inclusive and supportive leadership style, and a deeply felt commitment to the work we do and the importance of our work in changing and improving lives.
To be successful in this role you will be able to lead and influence others and be able to positively impact on changes outside of your direct sphere of control. Your professional advice and opinion will be welcomed, and you will be trusted to provide that support across our Trust’s Leadership Team.
We need a dynamic leader who is comfortable with high levels of agency and accountability and who can navigate complex stakeholder relationships with ease. You will command respect and confidence from peers and stakeholders, particularly in board and leadership team level discussions, and will deliver efficiencies, change and innovation in an ever-evolving environment.
