Overview
NorthOak is a boutique startup consulting firm whose mission is to empower organizations to scale, automate, and streamline their operations. Our team works closely with diverse companies and offers innovative consulting solutions such as workflow management systems, customized outsourcing, and digital transformation initiatives. Founded in 2024, we aim to become a leader in operations consulting, partnering with businesses across various industries to optimize their processes and drive sustainable growth.
We’re seeking an Operations Analyst to join our team as the second full-time hire. This role is designed for an ambitious individual early in their career who is eager to dive deep into startup operations and make a tangible impact from day one. You'll be working directly with our founding team to build and deliver technology solutions for our partners. We operate as a startup ourselves, so the role is quite demanding. See our values section below for more information on the type of person we're looking for.
Responsibilities
As the second full-time hire, you'll be wearing many hats and evolving your role with the needs of the business.
In the first 3 months, you'll focus on delivering value to our clients. This means you'll be:
- building automations using Zapier
- cleaning data and streamlining processes in Hubspot
- designing customer journey maps in Miro
- updating and designing new pages in Webflow & Squarespace
- building databases in Airtable
- managing various other initiatives/projects in ClickUp
During the 3-6 month timeframe, you'll start managing the backlog for the clients and coordinating the efforts of our overseas teams to deliver value to our clients. You'll also start working on finding new clients and developing industry relationships.
After 6 months, you will start managing entire client relationships and ensuring they receive the value we promise to deliver them.
Qualifications - Skills
You will need to be a high functioning generalist to succeed in this role. That means you should be fairly competent in a wide variety of skills varying from basic programming (you can understand code since you're highly logical), to financial modeling (you're an excel wiz and you're great at math), and even design (you're dangerous with photoshop/figma/webflow). Most importantly, you're an operations guru and have led/managed large-scale complex projects. You understand how to coordinate many moving parts and people to deliver successful outcomes.
Qualifications - Experience
You should have 1-2 years of experience (internships count) working at high-growth technology startups in various roles.
Values
The following traits are needed to succeed at NorthOak.
Friendly - You care deeply about your peers.
Ambitious - You have big dreams and believe you'll achieve them.
Hard Working - You are willing to work 60+ hours a week. Big dreams require big work.
Maverick - You are in charge of your life and a driver of change.
Accountability - You take responsibility for yourself. No excuses.
Courage - You choose to face difficult challenges. Nothing great comes easy.
Smart - You have common sense and make logical decisions.
Fun - You don’t take yourself too seriously.
Compensation
The salary for this role starts at $50,000. There is the opportunity to grow quickly and share in the profits of the business as we grow.
Location
This role is based in Toronto, Ontario, near Queen/University. You will be expected to come into the office 3 times a week.
