Position Overview
Ways2Well is seeking a full-time, experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial operations as we scale our business nationally. The CFO will serve as a core member of the executive leadership team, responsible for financial strategy, planning, reporting, risk management, and capital management.
This role requires someone who thrives in a startup environment—comfortable building processes from the ground up, wearing multiple hats, and adapting as the business evolves. The CFO will guide long-term financial planning while also managing day-to-day finance operations, ensuring both fiscal health and scalable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Serve as the primary financial advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team, developing financial strategies that support Ways2Well’s growth and long-term objectives.
- Build and lead a scalable financial infrastructure that aligns with the company’s business model and expansion plans.
- Develop and maintain multi-year financial models, forecasts, and strategic business plans.
- Present clear, data-driven financial reports and insights to leadership, investors, and board members.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
- Establish financial KPIs and dashboards, providing actionable insights that drive growth and operational efficiency.
- Identify risks and opportunities, proactively recommending adjustments to maintain financial health.
Cash Flow, Capital, and Investor Relations
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic investments.
- Partner with the CEO on fundraising strategy, investor communications, and capital structure optimization.
- Oversee financial due diligence for new investments, partnerships, or M&A activity.
Accounting, Compliance, and Controls
- Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.
- Work closely with external accounting firms and fractional accounting agencies for tactical execution and compliance support.
Organizational Growth Support
- Partner with key business functions (marketing, operations, HR) to align financial strategy with growth initiatives.
- Lead financial system selection and implementation as the company scales.
- Mentor and develop internal finance team members as the organization grows.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a strong track record as CFO or equivalent.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments is essential.
- Proven expertise in healthcare, technology-enabled services, wellness services, or similar industries preferred.
- Demonstrated success in financial strategy, capital management, fundraising, and investor relations.
- Strong command of accounting principles, GAAP compliance, and financial systems implementation.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
- CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Adaptable and hands-on leadership style suited to an entrepreneurial, startup environment.
- Excellent financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities—able to translate complex financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and strong business acumen.
- Experience with financial systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
