Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Sales Operations Data Analyst with expertise in sales and inventory forecasting, allocation, and planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in the retail and e-commerce sectors, with a focus on seasonal products and small appliances sourced primarily from overseas.
This role plays a key part in optimizing our supply chain performance and ensuring consistent product availability across multiple sales channels. You will also support the development of advanced forecasting capabilities using modern analytical tools and data-driven strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forecasting & Planning
- Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts across all channels by analyzing historical sales data, promotional calendars, market trends, and seasonality.
- Inventory Allocation
- Strategically allocate inventory across e-commerce and retail channels to optimize stock levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory.
- Data Analysis & Visualization
- Utilize Power BI and Excel to create dashboards, forecasting models, and reports that support timely, data-informed decisions.
- Sales & Market Analysis
- Monitor sales performance, customer demand, and market trends to proactively adjust forecasts and respond to dynamic market conditions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with sales, supply chain, and warehouse teams to develop and refine allocation strategies that improve efficiency and service levels.
- Warehouse Communication
- Act as a key liaison with warehouse teams to coordinate inbound and outbound inventory flow, support replenishment strategies, and address e-commerce operational requirements.
- Utility Program Allocation
- Analyze sales and demand data to plan inventory allocation to customer distribution centers (DCs) and retail locations.
- Stewardship Program Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and report on product usage data regularly to meet regulatory and partner reporting obligations.
- EDI Technical Support: Investigate and resolve EDI document errors in collaboration with our EDI service provider.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Analytics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in demand forecasting, planning, or allocation in retail or e-commerce.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and a high number of SKUs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SQL and Power BI.
- Understanding of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) processes, including troubleshooting document errors and collaborating with EDI service providers.
- Experience managing seasonal products; small appliances experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with both 1P and 3P e-commerce fulfillment models (Amazon experience is a plus).
- Experience working with overseas suppliers, particularly in China.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational abilities.
