Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to serve as a key member of our executive leadership team. This in-office role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, driving strategic financial planning, and ensuring the fiscal health and growth of the organization. The CFO will partner closely with senior leadership to provide insight, direction, and accountability in all areas of finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Financial Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, providing strategic guidance on financial planning, risk management, and capital allocation.
- Financial Oversight: Direct and manage all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee preparation and presentation of timely, accurate financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) to the executive team and stakeholders, offering actionable insights to drive decision-making.
- Cash Flow & Capital Management: Monitor and optimize cash flow, maintain strong banking and investor relationships, and oversee effective use of financial resources.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development, refinement, and management of annual budgets, multi-year forecasts, and complex financial models to support strategic initiatives and growth goals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including payroll taxes for W-2 employees and independent contractors.
- Process Optimization: Identify, design, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and financial controls.
- Organizational Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and operational excellence.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Education & Certifications: CPA required; MBA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior-level finance role, ideally as a CFO, VP of Finance, or equivalent in a professional services or growth-oriented environment.
- Financial Expertise: Mastery of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and tax compliance. Strong command of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
- Strategic Vision: Demonstrated success in translating complex financial data into clear strategies that support business growth and profitability.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and developing financial teams while working collaboratively with cross-functional leadership.
- Technology Proficiency: Expertise with financial systems, ERP software, and advanced Excel. Experience implementing or optimizing financial technology platforms is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information for a variety of audiences.
