Position
Laurel Creek Country Club seeks a Controller / CFO that will be the steward of all things related to the club’s finances. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and decision-making skills and an ability to forge relationships with the club’s leadership, membership and staff. In this role attention to detail, forward thinking, adaptability, the ability to manage and meet deadlines and the highest ethical standards are all necessities for success.
The ideal candidate for this role will hold a high level of decorum that adheres to our company standards. This position reports to the General Manager / COO.
- Directly oversee all financial aspects of the club including Human Resources, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and IT with the assistance of our third-party service provider.
- Oversight of all software and hardware maintenance with the assistance of our third-party IT service provider
- Hire, manage, train, mentor and develop all accounting support staff.
- Prepare and present a financial packet monthly to the Finance Committee, including financial statements, metrics, forecasts and insightful analysis of the current financial position accompanied by recommendations. Attend and present this information at our monthly finance committee meetings.
- Create operating and capital budgets in conjunction with the department heads, the General Manager/COO and ultimately the finance committee.
- Continually monitor budgets and forecasts and advise management about variances and their causes and potential corrective courses of action.
- Prepare state and local tax returns
- Closely monitor inventories and periodically participate in the physical inventories with various departments throughout the year
- Develop accounting policies and procedures with your team and continually ensure that they are accurate and efficient
- Responsible for selection and administration of benefits including 401(k), medical, dental and life insurance
- Oversee all financial aspects of various capital projects
- Continual oversight with respect to accounting and software utilization throughout the departments. Will be comfortable recommending and assisting in implementing necessary changes; ensuring that these policies are continually monitored and updated
- Prepare and submit financial statements and all requested backup to outside auditors and oversee the external annual audit annually.
- Prepare all other reports as necessary and assist in all other financial matters throughout the year.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor's Degree or minimum 5 years equivalent experience
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent people skills that will allow the candidate to successfully integrate into our seasoned team and be able to be seen as a leader of the organization
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
· Knowledge of Northstar, Ottimate, SAP Concur, Primepoint or a similar payroll / scheduling system a plus but not required.
· Private Country Club or other high end hospitality experience preferred but not required

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
