Configuration Engineer (Epicor CPQ)
About Us
Moduflex Ltd is a UK manufacturer of bespoke shelving and storage solutions for a wide range of sectors. From small independent retailers to major retailers like Sainsbury’s and the military sector, we pride ourselves on quality, innovation, and a friendly, collaborative culture.
We are a small but growing business, looking for a forward-thinking individual to help shape our next phase of digital transformation.
The Role
We’re seeking a Configuration Engineer to take ownership of the full lifecycle of an Epicor CPQ (Snap Rules Engine) configurator project. This is a highly autonomous role where you’ll work closely with a small internal team to design, build, test, deploy, and maintain a complex product configurator for our shelving systems.
Initially, the configurator will be an internal sales tool, but it will eventually be rolled out for use by trade customers, enabling them to design shelving systems to their own dimensions, layouts, and specifications. You’ll translate complex product and geometry rules into a user-friendly, web-based interface.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end development of an Epicor CPQ (Snap) configurator for our shelving systems.
• Translate business/product requirements into code logic and calculations.
• Work with 3D/CAD models to provide accurate visual representations of configured products.
• Collaborate with colleagues who understand the product but not the code — bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Debug, optimise, and test configurations using browser developer tools to ensure accuracy, performance, and usability.
• Maintain, update, and expand the configurator over time as product ranges and business needs evolve.
About You
Essential:
• A degree (minimum 2:2) in a STEM subject involving programming (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics).
• Solid programming experience — JavaScript and JSON are particularly relevant.
• Basic understanding of geometry and mathematical problem-solving for layout/dimension rules.
• Ability to work independently on a project while collaborating with a small team.
• Forward-thinking mindset, eager to innovate and experiment.
Desirable:
• Experience with any CPQ platform (Epicor CPQ training provided).
• Experience with CAD, CAM, or 3D modelling tools.
• Understanding of APIs or web application integration.
What We Offer
• Opportunity to own a flagship digital project from the ground up.
• Work with a small, friendly, and supportive team.
• Flexible start/finish times and potential hybrid schedule after probation.
• Exposure to exciting projects with notable clients
