Careers & Candidates has been engaged exclusively, to source Candidates for the role of Chief Financial Officer.
Our Client is a well-established, multi site FMCG retailer, with its HQ based in Melbourne.
The company requires a Chief Financial Officer, who as a member of the executive leadership team (ELT), will contribute to leading the business through continued growth.
Our Client is looking for a senior level Chief Financial Officer, to be a genuine member of the ELT and IIC to the CEO.
Reporting into the CFO in addition to the finance team, will be supply chain and IT.
The ELT will be looking to the next Chief Financial Officer – and finance team - for considered and objective contribution to the running of the business and development of strategy, based on analysis and data. Likewise, our Client has requested strong leadership qualities in Candidates, who the finance team, broader business and ELT will trust in and look for advice from.
In regard to the Finance team, some key areas of focus will include: further developing the team’s role in supporting the business commercially (and upskilling team members’ analytical capacity); building relationships with the business; understanding key business drivers; reviewing and developing commercial reporting and rigor for the Board and senior management teams across business unit divisions of the business; and supporting the business in improving performance.
In regard to supply chain, you will work with the Head of Supply Chain to identify opportunities to improve inventory management, better partner with suppliers, reduce costs and improve internal reporting,
Likewise, with the IT team, to improve systems, address security risks and improve reporting.
While you are excited by the leadership, commercial opportunities and the challenges of this role, you will need to be involved in and ‘hands-on’ with analysis.
This is an opportunity to be the genuine IIC to the CEO and to impact the whole business. Lifting the finance team’s contribution to commercial and strategic running of the business will be part of your role, as well as improving performance of the supply chain and IT, will all be parts of your role, but the CEO will expect you to be across all areas of the business, identifying issues and solutions and looking for opportunities, too. As afore mentioned, you will still need to be 'hands-on' and the role will not suit a person solely looking to manage others. You will be CA / CPA / MBA qualified and have experience in FMCG or retail.
Please call Tim Sharp, 0425 769 414, to discuss the opportunity.
