Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Owing to our Finance Director retiring, BiP Solutions are going out to market for a Chief Financial Officer. This role will form a key part of our senior leadership role and be pivotal in realising the delivery of our growth strategy.
Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for driving the financial strategy, discipline, and scalability of the business. As a trusted partner to the CEO and Board, the CFO will ensure sustainable growth through sound financial management, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence.
The role requires a balance of financial acumen, commercial insight, and a forward-looking mindset, with a focus on enabling innovation and change, and in particular how this aligns to the delivery of our holistic AI strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Finance Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the financial strategy to support growth, profitability, and scalability.
- SaaS & Subscription Model Expertise: Oversee financial operations specific to subscription and recurring revenue businesses, including customer lifetime value, churn analysis and annual recurring revenue.
- Business Partnering & Insight: Provide actionable financial analysis and insights to support commercial decisions, investment cases, and operational improvements, shifting emphasis from compliance to value creation.
- Change & Transformation: Drive fundamental change initiatives, embedding modern ways of working across finance and business support, including AI, automation, and data-led process improvements.
- Operational Excellence: Develop efficient, automated, and scalable financial systems, processes, and reporting that support growth and reduce reliance on manual effort.
- Leadership & Culture: Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing finance and business support team; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Governance & Risk: Maintain strong financial controls, cash flow management, compliance, and risk management while keeping the focus on growth and agility.
- External Stakeholders: Engage with and maintain good relationships with external stakeholders (banks, auditors, insurances etc)
Key Experience & Skills
- Proven track record as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance leader within a SaaS, subscription, or data-driven business. And/or proven track record in an SME environment
- Strong expertise in subscription economics
- Demonstrated success in leading financial and operational transformation, introducing modern technologies, AI-driven insights, and automation into finance and business processes.
- Skilled in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), commercial modelling, scenario planning, and delivering insights to drive strategic decisions.
- Experience in managing external stakeholders (within a growth SME environment).
- Strong grasp of corporate governance, risk management, and compliance – balanced with a pragmatic, growth-focused approach.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to influence at Board level and collaborate across commercial, technical, and operational teams.
- Tech-savvy – embraces automation, AI, and data-led decision-making.
- Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
