Job Summary:
Electrans Technologies Ltd. is a fast growing company founded in 2017 located in Oakville, Greater Toronto Area. We are currently commercializing our patent pending Auto-Coupler technology for autonomous tractor-trailer deployment, and are looking for a seasoned AR/AP Coordinator to join our team. The successful applicant will be part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced dynamic environment to support the launch of our product from concept to reality.
Job Responsibilities:
This position will work in close collaboration with the Accounting team and contribute to the financial planning and analysis functions of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring the timely and accurate disbursement of payments to vendors and the efficient management of incoming receivables. Key responsibilities include managing company credit cards through online banking, ensuring payments are processed promptly and transactions are accurately recorded. The role also involves preparing and presenting regular cash flow and cash requirement reports to the management team, as well as providing updates on financial status, urgent payments, and budgeting matters to support informed decision-making. Additional duties include processing employee expense reimbursements, filing HST and WSIB remittances on a quarterly basis, and preparing the necessary financial documentation for year-end reporting, IRAP, and SR&ED claims. The incumbent will also serve as the primary point of contact for the company’s external payroll provider, ensuring the accurate and compliant administration of payroll. Required Skills:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and Desktop) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, receivable, and credit card reconciliations
- Experience with online banking platforms, cash flow management, and budgeting
- Knowledge of quarterly HST and WSIB filings, year-end financial preparation, and SR&ED claim support
- Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports and communicate insights to senior management
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
- CPA designation or working toward completion
- Experience with external payroll providers and knowledge of Canadian tax regulations
- Familiarity with SR&ED documentation, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Background in a manufacturing or technology-based environment
- Ability to develop and implement software-based accounting policies and internal controls
