About the role
At the Huntsman World Senior Games, we are leading the world in active aging. Our mission is to foster worldwide peace, health, and friendship and we do that through athletic competition, education, and meaningful social engagement.
We are seeking a dynamic CFO/COO to guide the financial and operational leadership of the Games. Each October, athletes from around the world gather in St. George, Utah, to compete, celebrate, and connect. Our highest priority is to deliver a world-class experience that inspires participants to embrace a healthy lifestyle and return to the Games year after year.
The CFO/COO will play a pivotal role in ensuring that vision by overseeing finances, operations, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a growth mindset—someone who can unify and motivate a team, manage complex projects, and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders in pursuit of a shared mission.
This role requires proven expertise in accounting, finance, and operations, as well as the ability to proactively align resources and people to achieve big-picture goals. The CFO/COO will report to the CEO and work closely with him, Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers, and community partners to help shape and deliver an event that leaves athletes and other stakeholders inspired by what the Games make possible.
In this Role, You Will
· Fulfill all aspects of accounting, finance and budget management.
· Oversee operations and be the key source of information.
· Administrate technology systems and solutions.
· Be responsible for compliance including IT, HR, State and Federal Government, IRS, Insurance.
· Fill the HR role.
· Manage facilities.
· Be self-directed while working with a team.
· Lead, motivate, inspire.
About You
· Exceptional communication skills with the proven ability to influence, inspire, and lead volunteers, staff, and partners.
· Proactive and results-driven, with a strong sense of ownership.
· Proven financial expertise with hands-on experience in accounting, budgeting, reporting, and QuickBooks (or similar accounting software); able to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
· Skilled at presenting financial and operational information clearly and persuasively to senior leadership, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
· Tech confident: proficient in MS Windows, MS Office, and Google Suite, with enough understanding of technology and systems to communicate effectively with outside IT support.
· Sound judgment with the ability to make timely, well-reasoned decisions.
· Skilled at spotting emerging trends and creating opportunities ahead of the curve.
· Adept at setting priorities, multitasking, and solving complex problems dynamically.
· Innovative thinker who can generate ideas and build support for new approaches.
· Trusted professional who cultivates strong relationships and represents the Games with integrity.
· Strategic, analytical, and organized; able to manage multiple projects independently and deliver on time.
· Excellent writer with the ability to articulate the Games’ mission and programs compellingly to sponsors, partners, and media.
· Strong collaborator with superb networking, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; able to unify diverse stakeholders toward a common goal.
· Interested in sports, volunteerism, and giving back.
· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
· At least 5 years of experience in finance and operations management preferred.
· Able to commute to our St. George, Utah, office or willing to relocate.
· Ability to travel as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
