Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Mifflin County School District, located in rural Central Pennsylvania, approximately 30 miles east of State College, is seeking a qualified Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to begin approximately February 2026. Serving roughly 4,400 students in grades K-12, the district manages an annual budget of around $100 million for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will oversee all financial operations of the district, including budget preparation and oversight, audit coordination, local, state, and federal financial reporting, purchasing and procurement, budget forecasting and financial planning, payroll and benefits administration, and supervision of the Business and Food Service Departments. Additionally, the CFO will serve as a liaison for insurance vendors, debt service managers, and tax collectors. A transitional overlap period with the current CFO will be provided through August 14, 2026, to ensure a smooth transition.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a Master’s degree (MBA) and/or CPA preferred. Prior experience in a similar role within a public school setting is highly desirable. Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances are required for employment. This is a full-time, 260-day, Act 93 position offering a generous benefits package and a regionally competitive salary.
