Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. The CFO will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy and direction of the organisation, ensuring financial health and sustainability. This leadership position requires a strong background in financial management, accounting, and organisational skills and ideally experience of working in a Multi Academy Trust or other educational environment, to drive growth and operational efficiency.
Duties
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards while maintaining accurate financial records.
- Lead the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and investors.
- Provide strategic insights to the executive team regarding financial performance and opportunities for growth.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the organisation's financial health.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chief Financial Officer or in a similar senior financial management role.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations.
- Expertise in financial accounting and reporting within a corporate environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Academy Handbook
- Experience of working in a Multi academy trust or other educational establishment is desirable
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset to drive business success.
