Role: Head of Operations
Location: East Midlands (On-site)
Salary: £55,000 - £70,000
Connect to Evolve is working with a fast growing e-commerce, consumer goods, scale-up who are searching for a Head of Operations to join their team.
This is a key role within the business during a crucial point in its expansion, overseeing all areas of the production process - including manufacturing, warehousing and order fulfilment. The business is scaling quickly, and this position will play a pivotal role in increasing capacity, reducing costs, and driving automation projects to improve efficiency.
What will you do?
- Lead day-to-day operations across manufacturing, warehousing, and fulfilment.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase site capacity and output.
- Drive cost efficiency, optimising labour, materials, and process flows.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Oversee warehouse and pick & pack operations to ensure speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and develop operational teams, building a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.
- Use KPIs and data to measure performance, spot bottlenecks, and deliver improvements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support business growth.
Knowledge and skills required
- Proven track record in an operations leadership role within manufacturing and consumer goods.
- Strong experience in scaling operations and managing large facilities.
- Experience in a SME environment.
- Hands-on expertise in cost reduction and process improvement.
- Demonstrated success in leading automation or technology-driving efficiency projects.
- Solid understanding of safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams.
- Commercially minded, data-driven, and confident using KPIs to guide decision making.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
