Chief Financial Officer (Fractional)
General Purpose
The fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a dedicated, independent consultant offering tailored financial guidance to Togiak Natives Limited (TNL). As a part-time contractor, this role focuses on championing TNL's financial strategies, integrating financial systems, advising on insurance matters, and providing investment foresight for sustainable growth.
Major Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Leadership: Furnish expert consultancy on TNL's financial operations, financial system strategies, budgeting, and forecasting.
2. Investment and Earnings Guidance: Provide strategic advice on TNL's investment options to optimize returns and advocate effective earnings allocation.
3. Insurance Management: Lead consultancy for TNL's insurance-related matters, ensuring optimal coverage and alignment with the company's risk profile.
4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure TNL is well-guided on financial regulations and compliant at all times.
5. Cash Management: Strategize for effective cash management, enhancing TNL's financial stability.
6. Reporting and Analysis: Deliver comprehensive financial insights derived from data, aiding TNL's executive decision-making.
7. Stakeholder Engagement: Represent TNL during financial engagements with external partners such as banks, auditors, and investors.
8. Process Enhancement: Collaborate with TNL leadership, refining financial processes and incorporating industry best practices.
9. Remote Mentorship: Offer mentorship to TNL's internal finance team, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing.
10. Leadership: Provide leadership and supervision to TNL’s controller, providing company-wide oversight of all accounting functions.
11. Audit: Key stakeholder in the annual financial audit, ensuring key take aways are implemented.
Minimum Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of combined finance and/or accounting experience, preferably with a focus on consultancy or leadership roles within Alaska Native Corporations.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field and/or CPA or CMA certification.
Required Knowledge or Skills
- Deep understanding of accounting, financial, and business principles.
- Expertise in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability in formulating investment strategies and managing insurance portfolios.
- Strong communication aptitude, fit for consultancy and remote collaborations.
- Prior experience with financial system recommendations and optimizations.
Preferred Knowledge or Skills
- Familiarity with government contracting accounting, proposal pricing, and unique attributes related to TNL.
- Proven consultancy roles with ANCs similar to TNL.
Location Preference
- Preference will be given to Alaska-based candidates. Applicants located in other Pacific Time Zone areas may also be considered.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel, typically 1–2 times per year.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $210.00 - $285.00 per hour
