Through our AI platform RutAI, we’re reimagining home construction and living using modules like BuildSuite (AI-driven project management), Flow (energy optimization), and Pulse (smart wellness and safety). We are preparing to raise a $250K–$500K seed round to scale RutAi, launch smart housing pilot projects, and expand across Ontario and Nova Scotia.
Role Overview
As Co-Founder & Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you’ll be the financial architect of Rutile Heights, responsible for fundraising, investor engagement, financial modeling, and capital strategy.
You’ll work directly with the Founder & CEO (Dike Chukunda) to structure the company’s seed round, manage investor relations, and establish financial systems that support long-term growth.
This is a rare opportunity to join at founding level, with significant equity ownership and direct influence over a high-impact venture shaping the future of Canadian housing technology.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Lead the seed round fundraising strategy ($250K–$500K target).
- Build relationships with angel investors, VCs, incubators, and government funding programs (e.g., NRC IRAP, SR&ED, and SDTC).
- Develop compelling financial projections, cap tables, and investor decks.
- Represent Rutile Heights in pitch sessions, Start-Up Visa presentations, and investment meetings.
- Oversee investor due diligence and post-funding financial reporting.
2. Financial Strategy & Planning
- Design and manage Rutile Heights’ financial model, including revenue forecasts, unit economics, and cash flow analysis.
- Collaborate with the CEO to allocate seed capital across AI product development, housing operations, and marketing.
- Build financial dashboards and KPIs for transparency and decision-making.
- Analyze profitability for smart construction projects and RutAi subscription tiers.
- Evaluate funding opportunities through grants, incubator programs, or strategic partnerships.
3. Corporate Governance & Compliance
- Manage incorporation structure, share agreements, and founder equity distribution.
- Ensure compliance with CRA, Ontario corporate regulations, and investor frameworks.
- Oversee accounting, audits, tax filings, and reporting systems.
- Maintain relationships with banks, accountants, and legal advisors.
4. Strategic Growth Leadership
- Contribute to the company’s strategic roadmap from pre-seed validation to Series A scalability.
- Partner with the COO and CTO to align financial planning with construction delivery and AI product development.
- Support pricing, market expansion, and investor communication strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in finance, venture capital, accounting, or startup fundraising.
- Strong grasp of financial modeling, valuation, and investor communications.
- Familiarity with Canadian funding programs, clean-tech grants, or real estate investment is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-impact startup environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
