Our client, a fast-growing and ambitious regional building society, is seeking an exceptional senior finance leader to step into the pivotal role of Chief Financial Officer (SMF2) to help shape its next chapter of sustainable growth and member-focused success. As a key member of both the Board and executive team, you will play a defining role in strengthening leadership, vision and culture while ensuring the Society remains resilient, well-capitalised and strategically agile.
As CFO, you will sit at the heart of strategic decision making, partnering closely with the CEO to drive financial strategy, funding and lending plans, and long-term value creation. You will lead treasury and liquidity strategy, taking full ownership of capital and balance sheet management and ensuring rigorous measurement, monitoring and optimisation of capital and liquidity positions. With responsibility for continually enhancing the Society’s ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan, Resolution Pack and Solvent Exit Analysis, this role requires deep, hands-on expertise in ICAAP and capital management. Your insight and challenge will ensure the organisation remains prudentially robust, forward-looking and regulator-ready at all times.
We are seeking a professionally qualified finance leader with a comprehensive grasp of the regulatory landscape and significant senior-level experience within financial services and/or banking. You will bring credibility, presence and sound judgement to the Board, acting as a visible and influential executive who champions integrity, creativity and excellence. Collaborative in style yet confident in challenge, you will contribute meaningfully to Board debate and strategic direction. This is an outstanding opportunity for an aspiring CFO ready to step into a top-tier leadership role, someone motivated to shape strategy at the highest level, influence critical decisions and foster a high-performance, values-driven culture.
The role offers a basic salary of approximately £170,000 per annum, plus bonus and benefits, including a £7,000 car allowance. A hybrid working model of two days per week in the office is available.
