Role Overview
As VP Sales Operations – North America, you will lead IRO’s commercial and operational strategy across the region, with a focus on wholesale and retail performance, business development, and operational excellence.
You will act as the key orchestrator of IRO’s North American activities — ensuring that all commercial, operational, and back-office functions work seamlessly together to deliver growth, profitability, and brand consistency in line with global ambitions.
Scope of the Role
Your role encompasses full responsibility for sales operations and business performance across all North American channels:
- Wholesale: Oversee the entire wholesale network, including key account management, partner and agent supervision, and process optimization. Drive business development initiatives to expand IRO’s market presence and strengthen relationships with premium retailers
- Retail: Lead and support retail operations to maximize performance across the store network. Ensure strong commercial execution, elevate the client experience, and coach field teams to deliver on sales and profitability targets
- Merchandising & Buying: Partner closely with the global merchandising and buying teams to ensure product assortments are relevant for the North American market, aligned with seasonal strategies, and optimized for sell-through
- E-commerce coordination: Ensure consistency between retail, wholesale, and e-commerce calendars and activations, working collaboratively with Paris HQ to maintain a cohesive 360° commercial approach
- Back-office & governance: Oversee finance, HR, legal/compliance, IT, and real estate coordination in support of commercial goals. Act as the main bridge with Paris HQ, ensuring clear governance, reporting, and strategic alignment
Key Responsibilities
- Drive commercial performance across wholesale and retail, ensuring revenue, margin, and profitability targets are met or exceeded
- Lead wholesale strategy — manage existing accounts, develop new partnerships, and strengthen agent relationships to expand IRO’s footprint and optimize operational efficiency
- Steer retail excellence — monitor KPIs, guide store managers, and implement action plans to boost sales conversion, productivity, and client experience
- Guide local buying and merchandising decisions, ensuring product relevance and inventory efficiency tailored to the North American consumer
- Build and mentor high-performing teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and a performance-driven culture
- Ensure seamless coordination between commercial, operational, and back-office functions to support business growth and structural scalability
- Act as the key interface with Paris HQ for strategic planning, reporting, and decision-making
Candidate Profile
- 5-7 years of senior role in fashion, luxury, or lifestyle industries, with a strong track record in wholesale and retail operations
- Proven business development expertise and an established network within the North American fashion and retail landscape
- Solid understanding of retail management, merchandising, and commercial strategy, with hands-on leadership experience
- Strong people leadership skills — capable of motivating and developing diverse teams, fostering engagement, and driving results
- Highly organized, analytical, and operationally minded, able to balance strategy with execution
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a global matrix environment
