Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) to join our executive leadership team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting organizational growth through sound financial management. This position requires a deep understanding of corporate finance, accounting standards, risk management, and strategic planning within a dynamic environment. The ACFO will collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop financial strategies that align with organizational goals, manage complex financial projects, and ensure fiscal integrity across all departments.
Responsibilities
- Assist the CFO in developing and implementing financial strategies that support organizational objectives.
- Oversee corporate accounting functions including financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, IFRS, IAS, ASC 606, COSO, and other regulatory standards.
- Manage risk analysis and develop risk mitigation strategies related to financial operations and market fluctuations.
- Lead revenue management initiatives, including revenue cycle management and revenue recognition policies.
- Supervise treasury management activities such as cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and investment strategies.
- Oversee budgeting processes, expense management, cost control, and cost management initiatives to optimize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and oversee internal controls for financial reporting accuracy.
- Lead mergers & acquisitions activities including due diligence, valuation analysis, integration planning, and negotiations.
- Prepare and interpret complex financial reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Manage regulatory reporting requirements for governmental agencies and ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards such as GAAP and IFRS.
- Supervise finance staff including payroll management, financial modeling, and technical accounting teams.
- Conduct market analysis to inform strategic decision-making and business development efforts.
- Support organizational growth through strategic planning, business analysis, and financial forecasting.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of SOX compliance, IFRS, IAS, ASC 606, COSO frameworks, and GAAP standards.
- Proven experience in mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, revenue cycle management, and business development.
- Strong expertise in financial accounting—including governmental accounting—and non-profit accounting as applicable.
- Advanced skills in financial analysis, modeling, report writing & interpretation; risk analysis; fiscal & expense management; cost control; supply chain finance; and tax accounting.
- Proficiency with financial software systems and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to lead strategic initiatives effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience supervising teams at senior levels; strong management skills in budgeting, forecasting, cost & profit & loss analysis.
- Ability to analyze complex financial concepts quickly and translate them into actionable insights for executive decision-making.
- Strong technical accounting background with experience in public accounting or corporate finance environments.
- Effective communication skills for presenting detailed reports to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
