Prospera Executive are supporting a private equity backed building services business that is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial turnaround and professionalise the organisation for future growth.
The company operates across multiple states providing restoration, roofing and exterior services to residential and commercial customers. After a period of rapid acquisition, the business now requires a CFO who can restore financial discipline, strengthen controls and support the sponsor through a stabilise, improve and exit cycle.
The Opportunity
- Partner with a committed private equity sponsor to deliver a value creation plan focused on cash management, reporting improvement and operational visibility.
- Build the finance function needed for a multi site, service based business with significant complexity across projects, estimating, labour, and insurance funded work.
- Lead the financial aspects of the turnaround, including forecasting, working capital control, cost management and commercial decision support.
- Establish reliable reporting, rebuild systems and ensure accurate site level profitability.
- Support integration of acquired branches and introduce financial governance across the platform.
- Act as a key partner to the incoming CEO and help prepare the company for a future sale.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a clear financial turnaround plan aligned with the sponsor and CEO.
- Implement strong FP&A, reporting and cash management processes.
- Restore discipline in project controls, billing, collections, and margin management.
- Introduce standardised financial systems, reconciliations and policies across all sites.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting and scenario planning with an emphasis on liquidity.
- Build and mentor a finance team capable of supporting a complex, multi site operation.
- Ensure full transparency for the board, lenders and sponsor through timely and accurate reporting.
- Provide commercial insight to improve pricing, job costing and field level profitability.
Experience Required
- Successful track record as CFO within a private equity backed or lender controlled business.
- Experience in turnaround environments with clear evidence of restoring controls, stabilising cash flow and improving EBITDA.
- Background in building services, construction, restoration, facilities management or other field based industries.
- Strong FP&A capability with deep hands on experience in cash forecasting, working capital, job costing and project accounting.
- Demonstrated success integrating acquisitions and upgrading systems and governance.
- Confident communicator with credibility at board, investor and lender level.
- Comfortable operating in detail while supporting high level strategic planning.
