Position Summary
GenServe is seeking a data-driven Business Operations Analyst with strong data management capabilities, financial acumen, and hands-on Power BI or comparable software application dashboard development experience. This role plays a key part in improving operational visibility, streamlining reporting, and delivering actionable insights across the organization. This position reports directly to the Director of FP&A and works closely with business line leaders across GenServe’s service operations. Prior PE portfolio experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Analytics
- Manage and maintain high-quality operational datasets across service lines.
- Build scalable data models and automated reporting workflows.
- Perform detailed analyses to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
Dashboard Development (Power BI or comparable software applications)
- Design, build, and enhance dashboards that track KPIs across maintenance, repair, rentals, and equipment sales.
- Improve reporting visibility for branch performance, job costing, revenue, and margin trends.
- Help standardize reporting processes for operations, finance, and executive leadership.
Business Partnership
- Work directly with branch leaders and service managers to understand needs and deliver insights.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support operational initiatives by providing data-driven recommendations.
Financial & Strategic Support
- Analyze operational and financial performance, including key revenue and cost drivers.
- Support the Director of FP&A with reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and KPI analysis.
- Contribute to strategic and ad hoc projects tied to growth, efficiency, and branch optimization.
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in business operations, analytics, or financial analysis.
- Strong, hands-on expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization) or comparable software applications.
- Advanced Excel skills; SQL or Power Query preferred.
- Strong financial acumen with experience analyzing P&L components and operational KPIs.
- Experience with ERP or service platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, Salesforce).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
