A private-equity backed consultancy business is looking to appoint a CFO to join its senior leadership team. The organisation provides specialist analytical and strategic advisory services to a diverse, international client base.
Operating from two UK offices and continuing to expand globally, the company is entering an exciting phase of accelerated growth. Its plan combines strong organic expansion with carefully selected acquisitions, supported by an already active pipeline of potential targets.
This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and commercially astute CFO to help steer the organisation through its next stage of development and value creation.
Role Overview
The CFO will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and wider leadership team, responsible for driving financial excellence, strengthening governance, and supporting the long-term ambition of the business. The position also carries Board responsibility and oversight of the entire finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Board Director with full accountability for financial strategy and operations.
- Provide clear, informed advice to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
- Lead all financial reporting, including statutory accounts, management information, investor updates and lender requirements.
- Develop, track and interpret financial and operational KPIs to guide performance.
- Produce annual budgets and multi-year financial projections.
- Ensure full visibility of monthly results including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, capex activity and covenant compliance.
- Deliver high-quality analysis and written materials for investors, lenders and the Board.
- Play an active role in shaping short- and long-term business strategy.
- Support commercial negotiations, pricing discussions and major client or partnership agreements.
- Prepare documentation and insight to support a future investment exit.
- Lead financial aspects of acquisitions from assessment and valuation through to structuring, negotiation, due diligence and integration.
- Coordinate external advisers including legal, banking, audit, tax and insurance professionals.
Key requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical expertise.
- Broad experience leading finance teams at a senior level.
- Demonstrable ability in cost control, cash management and treasury/working-capital oversight.
- Proven leadership and team-development capability.
- Exposure to private-equity environments and transaction processes.
- Experience operating in leveraged businesses and managing debt facilities.
- Commercially minded with experience supporting bids, pricing or major commercial arrangements.
- Hands-on M&A and post-deal integration experience.
