A lot of PE-backed platforms talk about “buy & build.”
This is an opportunity to join a platform right from the very begining.
A mid-market investor (with a strong UK track record) is about to launch a new services platform.
First deal is closed. The blueprint is clear: acquire well, integrate fast, scale with discipline.
But right now, there’s no finance infrastructure. No reporting pack. No systems. No playbook.
That’s where this role comes in.
What makes this exciting isn’t just the equity or the title it’s the timing.
You’ll be the person who:
- Builds the finance function from scratch
- Shapes how acquisitions are integrated from day one
- Partners directly with the CEO and PE board on value creation
- Turns multiple moving parts into one coherent, scalable platform
Think of a typical scenario:
Deal one completes, reporting is inconsistent, systems don’t talk, and the board wants clarity in 30 days.
Your job is to create that clarity fast and then replicate it across every future acquisition.
The role
- Chief Financial Officer
- UK-based (flexible)
- PE-backed services platform
What you’ll be doing
- Build and lead the finance function from the ground up
- Own systems selection, reporting, and controls
- Lead financial integration of acquisitions
- Support diligence, day-one readiness, and post-deal execution
- Partner with CEO and investors on performance and strategy
What they’re looking for
- CFO with a services environment background
- PE-backed experience
- Proven integration experience post-acquisition
- Multi-site / multi-contract P&L exposure
- Track record of building or scaling a finance function
- Comfortable in ambiguity and early-stage environments
Package
- Competitive base + bonus
- Meaningful equity (designed for the full journey)
If you’ve ever wanted to build a platform properly not inherit one this is that opportunity.
