We have been exclusively engaged by a privately held, OCC-regulated financial institution in New York City to identify their next Chief Financial Officer. This is a high-impact executive role for a banking leader with a deep treasury background, strong balance sheet management experience, and the desire to help guide a fast-moving organization through its next phase of growth.

What They’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
- A Treasurer or senior Treasury leader ready to step into a CFO seat, or a seasoned banking executive seeking one more meaningful leadership role
- Strong across liquidity management, ALM, funding strategy, treasury operations, and balance-sheet optimization
- Comfortable in a hands-on, non-bureaucratic banking environment
- Experienced partnering closely with Controllers, finance teams, regulators, and senior leadership
- Able to work onsite in NYC 4 days per week
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial management functions, including FP&A, internal reporting, regulatory reporting, treasury, and ALM
- Oversee and develop a team of ~5 across Finance, Treasury, and Deposits
- Direct liquidity strategy, cash management, funding, and balance-sheet planning
- Manage the ALCO process and drive asset/liability risk strategy
- Oversee internal and external audit activities and evaluate internal controls
- Maintain relationships with correspondent banks, lenders, and external stakeholders
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and process improvement
- Support credit oversight through loan committee participation
- Provide leadership on special projects, M&A analysis, and long-term capital planning
- Serve as a key executive voice during an ongoing organizational restructuring
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in banking
- Master’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated strength in treasury, liquidity, ALM, and balance-sheet strategy
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and manage regulatory expectations
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment
