Position Summary
The Director of Business Operations provides senior-level operational and financial leadership for one or more partner locations within a defined market. This role is accountable for driving performance across all locations by ensuring operational consistency, strong financial outcomes, and sustainable growth.
Serving as a hands-on leader and strategic partner, this position collaborates closely with regional executives, branch leadership, and centralized support teams to execute business strategies, reinforce accountability, and maintain operational rigor throughout the market.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations for assigned partner locations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and measurable performance.
- Enforce operational standards and processes by holding Branch Managers accountable for results.
- Facilitate daily operational huddles with local leadership to align priorities, track execution, and remove obstacles.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Maintain full profit-and-loss ownership for all assigned locations.
- Review budgets, forecasts, and financial reports on a regular basis to assess performance and identify risks.
- Proactively manage revenue, gross margin, and controllable expenses to ensure targets are met.
- Monitor key performance metrics weekly and implement corrective actions when performance deviates from plan.
- Hire, mentor, and develop Branch Managers and site-level leadership teams.
- Ensure new leaders are effectively onboarded with well-defined expectations and performance criteria.
- Build and sustain a strong leadership pipeline across the market.
- Collaborate with recruiting partners to attract and retain high-performing talent across service, sales, and installation functions.
- Identify opportunities for market expansion and organic growth.
- Design and execute growth initiatives that increase sales, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Develop scalable systems and repeatable processes to improve sales execution, gross margin, and operational KPIs.
- Partner with shared services teams—including Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, and Technology—to optimize margins and improve overall business performance.
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality customer experience across all locations.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly while safeguarding the company’s reputation.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and community partners within the market.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience overseeing multi-location operations; residential services experience preferred.
- Demonstrated responsibility for managing $25M or more in annual revenue.
- Strong sales orientation with a track record of driving growth through standardized, scalable processes.
- Advanced financial expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, and operational cost optimization.
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver consistent results across multiple locations.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned market.
