Role purpose
Turn insight into outcomes. As deputy to the Global Account Manager for a major global aerospace and defence OEM, you’ll craft the multi‑year strategy, run the cadence, safeguard contractual obligations and lead high‑impact campaigns—so ALTEN shows up as the client’s long‑term, value‑creating partner.
Collaboration
Work in active partnership with the Global Account Manager (GAM), acting as deputy and coordination lead across functions. Align pipeline shaping, campaign priorities and executive reporting to the account’s 3‑year roadmap.
Key responsibilities and tasks
1) Account strategy design
- Build a deep understanding of the account: customer priorities, market dynamics, competitors and ALTEN’s positioning.
- Define and maintain a clear account development strategy with ALTEN business units.
- Identify priority growth areas, key assets and differentiators within ALTEN.
- Maintain a multi‑year account roadmap with a 3‑year forward view.
2) Strategy execution and governance
- Drive implementation of the agreed account strategy across divisions and geographies.
- Coordinate contributions from relevant ALTEN entities to ensure consistency and momentum.
- Establish, refine and run effective account governance as needed.
- Act as deputy to the GAM and represent ALTEN at group level when delegated.
3) Client engagement and representation
- Engage clients regularly and ensure the account is managed globally, not in silos.
- Promote the full ALTEN brand and offer portfolio.
- Position ALTEN as a long‑term strategic partner rather than a reactive supplier.
4) Manage Contractual Commitments
- Manage the contractual relationship between ALTEN and the client, ensuring obligations, changes and risks are governed through the agreed forums.
- Maintain a single source of truth for all contractual commitments (e.g., MSAs, SLAs/KPIs, security, etc.) and track performance against them.
- Coordinate stakeholders globally (Sales, Delivery, Finance, Legal and Compliance) to meet contractual targets and service levels, escalating and driving remediation where required.
- Lead periodic contract performance reviews, manage change control and ensure timely renewals and amendments.
5) Business development and deals
- Lead or support strategic pre‑sales and sales campaigns.
- Ensure commitments to clients are realistic, internally aligned and fully delivered.
6) Collaboration and continuous improvement
- Work closely with Sales, Technical and wider Group teams for support and alignment.
- Share feedback openly to improve global efficiency and team effectiveness.
- Increase cross‑division visibility of capabilities and delivery strengths.
Success indicators
- Revenue growth with the targeted account.
- Increased strategic deal flow and higher success on RFIs/RFQs.
- A clear, shared account strategy understood across ALTEN entities.
- Improved global coordination and governance.
- Consistent, high‑quality client engagement.
Key requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 9 years of professional experience.
- Background: Strong experience in service-oriented roles (e.g., project management, technical support, engineering).
- Sales Skills: Proven expertise in structured sales (e.g., complex sales cycles, B2B client portfolio management, negotiation).
- Approach: Ability to balance methodological rigor with a customer-centric mindset, focusing on satisfaction and retention.
- Bonus: Experience in a technical or industrial sector (e.g., nuclear, energy, aerospace).
