Our client is a growing real estate investment platform seeking a skilled individual to lead their capital formation efforts. The Managing Director – Capital Formation will be responsible for driving and managing the process of raising funds from accredited investors to support the firm's acquisition and growth strategy.
We are looking for a seasoned capital raiser with a strong network of accredited investors and a proven track record of raising approximately $75M–$100M in equity annually through private placements. This role requires someone who can work independently, with an entrepreneurial mindset, and take full ownership of the capital formation process.
The ideal location for this position is in Western Pennsylvania or requires regular access to the region 2–3 days per week.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
Build, scale, and strengthen a repeatable capital-raising platform
Develop and execute a disciplined capital formation strategy
Consistently raise $75M+ annually from accredited investors
Source capital through personal relationships, referrals, events, and targeted outreach
Manage investor engagement from initial contact through reinvestment
Drive efficient conversion through follow-up and relationship management
Grow investor allocations for repeat and increased investments
Maintain a forward-looking investor pipeline to meet annual targets
Achieve quarterly and annual capital goals with minimal oversight
Develop and expand the firm’s capital formation engine
Implement and refine capital-raising processes
Raise $75M+ per year from accredited investors
Source new investor relationships through personal networks and outreach
Manage investor follow-ups and conversions
Expand existing investor relationships through repeat investments
Maintain a high-quality investor pipeline aligned with growth objectives
Own the investor lifecycle from initial engagement through reinvestment
Consistently meet or exceed capital-raising objectives
Investor Relationship Leadership:
Build and nurture relationships with high-net-worth individuals and sophisticated investors
Represent the firm at relationship-driven events and engagements
Act as a trusted advisor by articulating the firm’s offerings and performance
Collaborate with various teams to execute offerings
Provide feedback to improve offering structure and positioning
Process, Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure accurate and compliant investor communications
Align investor activity with firm strategy
Track investor data and commitments in the firm’s CRM
Maintain data integrity and forecasting accuracy
Provide regular forecasts to senior leadership
Adhere to compliance and reporting standards

10+ years of experience in capital raising or investor relations
Proven track record of raising $75M–$100M+ annually
Established network of high-net-worth individuals and investors
Experience with full revenue accountability
Understanding of private offerings and accredited investor requirements
Knowledge of private real estate or alternative investments
Familiarity with compliance and investor communication standards
Strong relationship-building and trust development skills
