We are excited to announce that we have an opening in our
Clarksburg, MD office for a
Chief Financial Officer. The position will oversee the financial health and growth of all the TDSI companies and product lines, in a shared service environment. Along with other members of the executive team, you will ensure each business line achieves or exceeds all financial targets, including order intake, annual revenue, EBIT, and cash flow.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support TDSI Core Values & Code of Ethics.
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders and other members of executive team. Effectively communicate, engage and interact with Board of Directors, CEO and executive team.
- Successful execution of strategic planning, strategy formulation, and market planning, as well as ability to develop and manage a financial plan and budget that supports those activities.
- Conduct regular reviews on the financial health of programs, identifying potential business risks, and plan/implement risk mitigation activities.
- Present monthly financial budgeting reports: monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division and weekly cash flow by division.
- Responsible for leading and developing the multi-year budget process and forecasts in collaboration with operations and other functional heads.
- Responsible for profit and cash flow planning and management for multiple business units and/or legal entities.
- Identify and lead the implementation of process improvement initiatives.
- Provide insight and recommendations for both short-term and long-term growth plans. Key participant in evaluating long term investment planning opportunities within the business structure.
- Ensure financial soundness of new business acquisitions and follow-on opportunities.
- Present financial performance to Boards, Thales USA, Global Business Units & Business Lines.
- Primary point of contact for the annual financial audit and Thales Group Internal Audit.
- Serve as member of the Thales USA benefits and investment committee representing the interests of the Proxy companies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides senior leadership for the finance departments. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's operating policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance appraisals, rewarding and providing for employee discipline when required; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Active mentoring and development of staff is critical element of the supervisory responsibilities.

- U.S. Citizenship required. - Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information promptly upon hire.
- Completed bachelor's Degree. Master’s degree desired.
- 15+ years of demonstrated success working in the financial organization of a U.S. Federal Government contractor, preferably with multiple business lines.
- ERP Financial System experience (G/L, A/P, AR) required. SAP S/4 HANA highly preferred.
- Ability to foster teamwork across different functional areas and with other Thales entities.
- Expertise in finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principle, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Cost Accounting Standards and International Accounting Standards. Ability to analyze financial data and direct the preparation of financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short, long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profit analysis.
- Experience in evaluating and decision making for merger & acquisition or other business growth opportunities.
- Must have excellent leadership, written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 20% of the time.

- This position is located on the Clarksburg, Maryland Campus which is comprised of different buildings. This requires the ability to travel between the buildings on campus to attend meetings. This campus also includes manufacturing floors and engineering labs, which contain engineering / manufacturing materials and products such as Isopropanol Alcohol, Adhesives, Solder, Fluxes, Epoxies, RTV, plastics, metals, batteries, wires, components, etc.
The annualized pay range for this role is
$318,237- $406,636 USD along with a target incentive compensation plan
(ICP) of 30%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above. TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
