Position Overview
InventWood is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the company’s financial strategy through a pivotal period of growth and commercialization. This role will be instrumental in positioning InventWood for long-term success by driving fundraising, managing capital markets activity, and establishing the financial and operational infrastructure necessary to scale a breakthrough manufacturing business.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. They will collaborate with the CEO and the executive team to make decisions regarding company's financial strategy and operations. The candidate will possess a strong background in finance and management.
Responsibilities
- Lead InventWood’s financial strategy, planning, and execution as we scale from early commercial production to global operations.
- Develop and oversee financing strategies, including equity and debt raises, project financing, and IPO readiness.
- Partner with the CEO and Board to define financial and corporate strategy, investor communications, and long-term business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
- Lead all accounting, financial reporting, tax, audit, and compliance functions.
- Develop financial models, forecasts, and metrics that guide decision-making and ensure efficient capital deployment.
- Oversee project financing efforts for manufacturing plants, including structuring debt, equity, and public/private funding arrangements.
- Establish financial systems and controls appropriate for a rapidly scaling, multi-site manufacturing organization.
- Work closely with operations to evaluate capital expenditures, cost structures, and return-on-investment for expansion projects.
- Drive preparation for potential public listing, ensuring compliance with SEC requirements and public company readiness.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and leadership team, contributing to both tactical execution and long-term growth planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including experience as a CFO or senior finance executive in a high-growth or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success in taking a company public (IPO or SPAC) or leading secondary offerings at an existing public company
- Proven experience structuring and securing large-scale project financing, ideally for manufacturing or industrial facilities.
- Strong background in corporate finance, strategic planning, and capital markets.
- Experience building and leading finance organizations in early- to mid-stage companies.
- Deep understanding of cost accounting, supply chain finance, and manufacturing operations.
- Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities, with a robust network across investment and industrial finance communities.
