Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy of our metal recycling business, based in Nigeria. This role goes well beyond reporting. You will work closely with the leadership team to drive profitability, manage working capital, strengthen controls, and support expansion across plants, yards, and export markets.
The ideal candidate understands asset-heavy businesses, commodity-linked pricing, operational finance, and on-ground execution in emerging market environments. Experience working in Africa or similar markets will be a strong advantage.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy & Leadership
- Own the overall financial strategy aligned with business growth and expansion plans
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership on financial and operational decisions
- Drive long-term value creation, cost optimization, and margin improvement
Operations & Cost Control
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across recycling plants and yards
- Manage working capital, cash flow cycles, and inventory financing
- Monitor commodity price exposure and margins across scrap sourcing and sales
- Set up tight cost controls across procurement, logistics, processing, storage, and exports
Accounting, Compliance & Controls
- Ensure accurate financial reporting in line with local Nigerian regulations and applicable international standards
- Oversee audits, statutory filings, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements in Nigeria
- Build and maintain strong internal controls to prevent leakage and ensure transparency
- Ensure compliance with environmental, trade, customs, and industry-specific regulations
Funding & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, and financial advisors in Nigeria and internationally
- Support fundraising, debt structuring, and investor or board reporting as required
- Lead negotiations for credit lines, trade finance, and capital expenditure funding
Team & Systems
- Build and lead a strong local finance and accounts team in Nigeria
- Implement or strengthen ERP, accounting systems, and MIS reporting
- Establish clear financial KPIs and dashboards for leadership review
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant, CFA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualification
- 10–15+ years of finance leadership experience
- Prior experience in metal recycling, manufacturing, commodities, mining, steel, or heavy industrial sectors preferred
- Strong exposure to working capital–intensive and asset-heavy businesses
- Experience handling audits, taxation, compliance, and lender relationships in emerging markets
- Willingness to relocate and work from Nigeria on a long-term basis

Compensation
- CTC: Competitive and aligned with international market standards

Pay: ₹750,000.00 - ₹1,170,000.00 per month
