Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Function: Finance
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Compensation Range: 90,000-125,000 annually

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours with flexibility for additional hours as required
Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer
Role Purpose
The Chief Financial Officer serves as the organization’s senior financial steward, responsible for directing fiscal strategy, safeguarding assets, and ensuring the reliability of all financial information. This position leads accounting operations, regulatory compliance, financial planning, and audit coordination while providing executive-level insight to support organizational performance and long-term sustainability.
Core Functions
- Direct all accounting activities, including cash controls, ledger maintenance, payroll coordination, payables, and receivables.
- Produce and interpret financial statements, management dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for executive leadership.
- Oversee monthly close processes, balance sheet integrity, and reconciliation of complex accounts.
- Develop, administer, and monitor operating and capital budgets; identify trends and variances.
- Administer grant and restricted funding from award through close-out, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Lead preparation for external audits and reviews; serve as primary financial liaison to auditors.
- Establish and enforce financial policies, internal controls, and risk-mitigation practices.
- Manage organizational assets, including inventory and capital equipment, and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Supervise and mentor finance staff; set performance expectations and promote professional development.
- Leverage enterprise financial systems and advanced data tools to support forecasting and strategic decision-making.
- Carry out additional executive-level financial duties as organizational needs evolve.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline; advanced credentials preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management or accounting leadership.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising professional staff.
- Comparable combinations of education and experience will be evaluated.

Work Setting & Physical Demands
- Office-based position with sustained computer work and periodic movement throughout facilities.
- Occasional lifting and handling of materials weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
Travel Expectations
- Intermittent travel to meetings.
- Periodic out-of-state travel for conferences or training programs.
- Valid driver’s license required.
