What You’ll Do
The core duties of Director of Business Operations & Project Delivery currently involves:
Operational Oversight
- Lead day-to-day delivery operations across Strategic Business Units (SBUs).
- Standardize workflows, tools, and reporting to ensure consistent, high-quality project execution.
- Monitor project performance against KPIs, budgets, and timelines; partner cross-functionally with Research, Operations, and Finance.
Revenue, Forecasting & Resourcing
- Partner with project leads to develop accurate revenue forecasts (within 5% of actuals).
- Track utilization, capacity, margins, and revenue pull-through across SBUs.
- Lead resource allocation and forecast staffing needs based on pipeline and project demand.
Process Improvement & Enablement
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable, data-driven solutions.
- Champion continuous improvement through training, documentation, and system adoption.
- Align and coach operations leads to ensure consistent practices across SBUs.
Vendor, Systems & Administration
- Manage external consultants, budgets, onboarding, and invoicing.
- Serve as Smartsheet system administrator, ensuring accurate project setup, change orders, and financial alignment.
- Maintain RFI/MSA documentation and oversee vendor purchase order processes.
Performance & Team Development
- Lead project close-out reviews, capture learnings, and drive operational improvements.
- Coach project and operations team members; support onboarding and skill development.
Who You Are
Who you are matters to us as much as what you do. A BioVidian playing the role of Director of Business Operations & Project Delivery has the following traits and qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in operations, project delivery, or program management in a client-based or professional services environment.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects across multiple teams or business units.
- Experience with resource planning, capacity management, and utilization tracking.
- Strong financial acumen, including revenue forecasting, budgeting, and margin analysis.
- Demonstrated success driving process standardization and operational improvements.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Research, and Operations teams.
- Proficiency with project management and resourcing systems (Smartsheet preferred).
- Experience managing vendors or consultants.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
