Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer serves as a senior executive responsible for the Bank’s financial stewardship, balance sheet strategy, and long-term financial performance. This role partners closely with executive leadership and the Board to translate financial insight into durable growth, prudent risk management, and sound governance. The CFO ensures the integrity, timeliness, and usefulness of financial information across the organization while continuously improving financial processes and decision support.

Key Accountabilities
Strategic & Board-Level Leadership
- Acts as a primary financial advisor to the Board of Directors, providing guidance on capital planning, dividend strategy, governance considerations, and enterprise-level initiatives.
- Partners with the CEO on balance sheet optimization, including oversight of the investment portfolio and recommendations regarding asset allocation and performance.
- Leads preparation and delivery of financial materials for Board and committee meetings, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and actionable insight.
Asset/Liability & Financial Risk Oversight
- Chairs or facilitates management-level ALCO and supports Board-level finance or asset/liability committees.
- Monitors interest rate exposure, liquidity position, funding mix, and key financial ratios relative to policy limits and peer benchmarks.
- Identifies emerging financial risks and proposes mitigation strategies consistent with the Bank’s risk appetite.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Directs the annual budgeting process with detailed monthly forecasting and variance analysis.
- Reports financial results against plan and peer institutions, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develops and oversees advanced financial modeling related to branch performance, product profitability, loan and deposit behavior, and enterprise returns.
Accounting, Reporting & Controls
- Ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across all entities and business lines.
- Maintains and evolves accounting and finance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Oversees accounts payable operations and all domestic and international wire activity.
Credit & Allowance Oversight
- Provides executive ownership of the allowance framework, including CECL methodology, assumptions, governance, and economic outlook analysis.
- Ensures models and processes align with regulatory expectations and reflect portfolio risk appropriately.
Operational Efficiency & Technology Enablement
- Champions automation, systems enhancement, and process improvement initiatives that strengthen accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
- Evaluates technology investments through a cost-benefit and risk-reduction lens.
Treasury & Ancillary Financial Programs
- Manages the Bank’s BOLI portfolio and other treasury-related programs.
- Oversees and strengthens the corporate credit card program for both employees and the institution.
External & Internal Relationships
- Maintains key relationships with auditors, regulators, consultants, and financial service providers.
- Leads, develops, and mentors accounting and finance teams, fostering accountability and professional growth.
Compliance, Culture & Professional Development
- Ensures full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including BSA and OFAC requirements.
- Actively pursues continuing education to remain current on regulatory, accounting, and industry best practices.
- Supports a workplace culture grounded in inclusion, integrity, and the Bank’s core values.
- Performs additional responsibilities as needed to support organizational objectives.
Experience & Credentials - Chief Financial Officer (Bank/Financial Services only)

Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced credential strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience within a bank, financial institution, or mortgage banking environment.
- Demonstrated success in executive-level roles with accountability for enterprise financial outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Boards of Directors and shareholders on governance, capital, and strategic matters.
- Deep knowledge of banking regulations, financial reporting standards, and supervisory expectations.
- Proven ability to balance growth, profitability, operational discipline, and regulatory compliance.
