POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Business Application Analyst serves as the strategic owner of the organization’s third-party application ecosystem. This role serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and external software vendors, ensuring that all applications integrated with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system operate efficiently and reliably, aligned with organizational goals. The analyst drives process optimization, system performance, data integrity, and continuous improvement through effective application management and data-driven insights.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vendor & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all third-party software vendors integrated with the ERP system.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure service levels, issue resolution, and system enhancements meet business needs.
System Administration & Health
- Monitor and maintain the functionality, availability, and performance of integrated applications.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate the resolution of system issues between internal users and external vendors.
- Ensure system integrations function reliably and securely.
Application Implementation & Integration
- Lead end-to-end implementation of new software modules and third-party applications, including requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams during implementation to minimize business disruption.
- Coordinate release readiness activities for third‑party applications (testing/UAT scheduling, go‑live communications, training readiness, and post‑launch hypercare) in partnership with project leadership.
Business Process & Workflow Optimization
- Analyze and audit existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and manual workarounds.
- Design and implement best-practice workflows that leverage application capabilities to automate processes and improve productivity.
Change Management & User Adoption
- Act as a consultant to business units to support the successful adoption of system enhancements, updates, and process changes.
- Communicate changes effectively to ensure smooth transitions.
Reporting & Data Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and enhance custom reports and dashboards to monitor system utilization and key business performance metrics.
- Ensure data flowing between the ERP and third-party applications is accurate, consistent, and structured for practical analysis.
Strategic Analysis & Recommendations
- Translate application and operational data into actionable insights and recommendations for leadership.
- Support data-driven decision-making through precise, concise analysis and reporting.
- Evaluate the third‑party application portfolio and recommend consolidation, standardization, or replacement options to reduce complexity, cost, and operational risk.
Training & Documentation
- Develop and maintain user training materials, process documentation, and system guides.
- Serve as a subject matter expert by conducting one-on-one and group training sessions to ensure high levels of user proficiency across the organization.
Application Delivery Governance (PMO Support)
- Partner with IT project leadership to manage application-related project plans, timelines, status reporting, risks, and dependencies for third‑party application initiatives.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), release communications, training readiness, and post‑go‑live hypercare for application deployments.
- Support intake and prioritization of application enhancement requests; maintain a structured backlog aligned to business value and operational impact.

JOB SKILLS:
- Strong stakeholder management skills; able to serve as a trusted liaison between business teams and external vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application issues, coordinate cross‑functional resolution, and communicate status clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Working knowledge of enterprise application ecosystems and how third‑party systems integrate with ERP (data flows, interface dependencies, and integration monitoring concepts).
- Strong business process analysis skills: document current/future states, identify bottlenecks, eliminate manual workarounds, and implement best‑practice workflows.
- Experience gathering requirements, coordinating testing/UAT, supporting deployments, and driving user adoption for application enhancements.
- Ability to develop and maintain reports/dashboards and translate operational data into practical insights.
- Strong documentation and training capability; able to create user guides and conduct effective end‑user training sessions.
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment while maintaining service reliability.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred training/certifications in one or more: business analysis, project delivery fundamentals, process improvement, IT service management, or reporting/analytics concepts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise business applications in a manufacturing, construction, engineering, or operations‑oriented environment.
- Proven experience managing third‑party application vendors (service issue resolution, enhancement coordination, vendor communications).
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting application implementations (requirements, testing/UAT, deployment coordination, and post‑launch support).
- Experience analyzing and improving business workflows through application configuration and user enablement.
- Ability to create and maintain reports/dashboards and translate operational/system data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills, including ability to develop training materials and deliver training to end users.
- Preferred: Experience supporting integrated application environments where third‑party systems exchange data with ERP and require interface monitoring and data validation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position is at least 80% to 95% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
