We have an opportunity for a Sales Operations Manager waiting just for you. Reporting into the Head of Retail and Fleet Sales, you will be supporting the Daimler Truck UK national field sales operations. The core responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, administering the network bonus model, managing and executing sales campaigns, and overseeing the processes of discount tracking and planning. In addition to these primary duties, the role involves facilitating both internal and external sales-related communications to ensure clarity and consistency across all channels. The Sales Support function also plays a vital part in upholding dealer network standards.
More about the role
Dealer Bonus Model
You will serve as the primary UK point of contact for the Dealer Network’s annual Sales Bonus Model. Your responsibilities will encompass the management and implementation of the target-setting logic ensuring it is fully aligned with the European Margin Model (Annex 5). This will involve overseeing the schedules for bonus payments, coordinating the timely and accurate disbursement of dealer payments, and maintaining regular communication with Dealer Development Managers, Sales Leaders, and the Finance department to address any queries or issues related to the Bonus Model.
In addition, you will work closely with the Sales Support team to guarantee precise monitoring of the Bonus Model performance dashboard. This collaboration will support the monthly validation of financial results, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all bonus-related data and reporting.
Campaign Management / Reward and Recognition Programmes
As the owner of all truck campaigns, you are responsible for managing every aspect of campaign execution. You will work with key sales, marketing, and dealer development stakeholders to align each campaign with company objectives. Your role covers the entire campaign lifecycle—from planning and securing financial approvals to collaborating across departments and ensuring compliance with fiscal guidelines.
You’ll prepare concise board papers detailing strategy, outcomes, and financials, complete all compliance documents, and communicate clearly with dealers to keep everyone informed. After launch, you monitor campaign spending, track variances, report issues, and evaluate effectiveness through to completion.
In addition to sales campaigns, you oversee the Compete & Win Programme, manage its budget according to agreed terms, and support the Truck Sales Co‑ordinator with ongoing tracking and reporting to ensure smooth operations.
Discount Planning & Analysis
Discount planning will require close collaboration with the Finance & Controlling teams on a weekly basis to facilitate effective discount tracking. This process involves monitoring both overspend and underspend to maintain financial discipline and ensure discounts are managed in accordance with company objectives.
Communicating these variances is essential for enabling the development of appropriate countermeasures to address any potential risks or emerging issues, thereby supporting the overall financial health and integrity of the sales function.
Sales Team Support:
Field Sales Team Support and Data Management
A vital component of this role is the daily support to the Daimler Truck UK Ltd field sales teams. This entails maintaining close communication and interaction with field representatives to ensure their operational needs are met. Responsibilities include producing ad hoc reports, validating data sets, and contributing to the weekly reporting process. These activities are essential for delivering accurate registration forecasts for the business. Any discrepancies identified during data validation or reporting are promptly flagged to the dealer network’s Admin teams and Sales Leaders, supporting the integrity of business processes and decision-making.
Customer Database and Sales Classification Tool Maintenance
The role also involves ongoing stewardship of both the Customer Database and the Sales Classification Tool. Annual updates to the Sales Classification Tool are required to guarantee that qualifying data remains accurate and reliable. The accuracy of this data is fundamental, as it underpins the effectiveness of sales tools, customer classifications, and dealer customer strategies. By ensuring that both systems are meticulously maintained, you support the broader sales infrastructure and strategic objectives of the organisation.
Franchise Standards and Dealer Performance Reporting
Ownership of the dealer franchise standards and the associated reporting forms another key responsibility, with all activities conducted in strict accordance with dealers’ contractual requirements. Maintaining direct lines of communication with sales leaders regarding data integrity whilst taking responsibility for dashboard reporting via power Bi on dealer performance and standards is key to the role. This ensures transparent monitoring and ongoing improvement of dealer network activities.
