Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) powers our cloud services. As a
Director, Business Operations, you will play a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.
Our APAC infrastructure includes a large portfolio of leased and built data centers in 11 countries, housing millions of servers. Our foundation is managed by a team of subject matter experts supporting services for billions of customers and millions of businesses in Asia.

As the
Director, Business Operations, you will lead a team of Senior Business Program Managers responsible for Financial Planning & Analysis in managing our Capital and Operating Expenses, Efficiency Improvements. You will be able to influence our spending pattern, and drive process improvements in our Finance Rhythm of Business (ROB).

Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end FP&A (Budgeting, Forecasting, Variance, Reviews)
- Strong track record owning financial planning cadence - from building/ owning forecasts and budgets to driving monthly/ quarterly business reviews and course-corrections. This includes CAPEX + OPEX planning and variance tracking with clear insights and actions.
- Demonstrate strong analytical capability - including diagnosing trends, identifying cost drivers, reconciling data sources/ variance issues, and producing decision-ready narratives for leaders (not just reports). The bar here is being able to tell the story behind the numbers and steer leadership conversations based on the business “pulse.”
- Ability to define and manage performance metrics/ KPIs and build mechanisms (dashboards/scorecards) that keep leaders aligned on financial targets, risks, and actions—especially where financial outcomes depend on operational execution.
- Strong cross-functional operator and influencer - able to partner tightly with finance and business stakeholders, align tradeoffs, and drive outcomes across boundaries (e.g., finance + operations + central teams). This is a director-level “connect the system” requirement,

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Finance, or equivalent experiences.
- 5+ years in leading an FP&A/ Business Operations organization.
- 10+ years’ experience in leading and influencing a diverse organization of full-time employees across multiple disciplines, platforms, cultures, and countries.
- 10+ years of people management with excellent cross-cultural awareness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience in financial budgeting and analysis, in the preparation of Opex and Capex submission, and tracking of variance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, data analysis, and attention to detail.
- Data Center Experience is a plus.
