Job Summary
The Director of Business Operations serves as the senior staff member responsible for building, managing, and continuously improving the operational infrastructure of the apostolate. With responsibility for human resources, technology, and internal operations, the director of business operations helps ensure the apostolate executes its strategic plan with discipline, clarity, and accountability as it grows in complexity and scale. This hands-on leadership role requires demonstrated experience in business management and operational execution.
Responsibilities
Apostolic Identity
- Help ensure our interactions with external stakeholders are in keeping with authentic Catholic identity and reflect our mission of evangelization through education.
- Exhibit faithfulness to the Magisterium of the Church in accord with our canonical status as a private association of the Christian faithful.
- Exercise and encourage in others an imitation of Christ in the model of G.K. Chesterton.
Human Resources
- Assist the executive leadership team to oversee hiring processes, onboarding, HR policies, and performance management.
Compliance and Counsel
- Assist the Executive Director in coordinating outside legal counsel and vendors to ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, tax code, and other requirements.
Process Design and Improvement
- Working with the executive leadership team, design, document, and standardize core business processes.
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
Technology and Systems Integration
- Assist with selection, implementation, and adoption of internal technology platforms.
- Own and manage the full organizational technology stack.
Board and Leadership Support
- Provide regular, clear reporting on operational performance and risks.
- Prepare materials and analyses to support leadership and Board decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in operations management, technology solutions and process design.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong skills with a wide range of technology, software, and platforms.
- Familiarity with Quickbooks and accounting processes.

- Periodic travel required.
