Chief Financial Officer-APAC, Assurant
The APAC CFO is a senior finance leader and trusted advisor responsible for helping to shape and guide the financial vision of the APAC business. Reporting to the International CFO, this role provides strategic financial leadership and decision support to the APAC President and the broader line of business (LOB) leadership team.
The APAC CFO leads financial strategy, planning, and performance management for the APAC business, w0hile ensuring alignment with enterprise growth objectives and international finance priorities.
Through deep knowledge of the business strategy, operating model, and financial performance, the APAC CFO drives disciplined financial management, informed decision making, and sustainable value creation across the region.
This position will be in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad at our India location.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Lead, shape, and execute Apac’s financial strategy, ensuring effective implementation in line with enterprise and regional objectives.
- Own financial planning, forecasting, target setting, and performance management processes, including oversight of liquidity, capital, and solvency management.
- Partner with the business to support strategy development and execution, enabling Apac’s vision and the creation of sustainable customer, client, and enterprise value.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to the senior executive leadership team, providing insight, challenge, and decision support on complex business matters.
- Provide the Board and Executive Leadership with accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting, ensuring transparency, integrity, and clarity of results.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on Apac’s overall business and enterprise profitability, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to the “Business Process,” embedding strong governance across investment and commercial decisions. Support the evaluation and execution of new business initiatives, partnerships, and commercial opportunities through robust financial analysis and governance.
- Actively challenge the Executive team to drive optimal business performance, including revenue growth, cost discipline, and capital efficiency.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously enhance financial and operational controls, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Tax function to ensure optimal and compliant tax treatment of the business as part of overall financial oversight.
- Evaluate financial performance and provide forward‑looking insights and recommendations to support both short‑term objectives and long‑term growth strategies.
- Lead and maintain positive, transparent, and effective engagement with key internal and external stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Education & Professional Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or relevant master’s preferred.
- Professional certification strongly preferred: CPA/CA, CMA, and/or CFA.
- Ongoing executive education in strategy, analytics, or digital transformation is a plus.
Years & Experience
- 18+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including 8–10 years in regional or multi‑country leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success owning a full P&L and leading FP&A for a complex, multi‑market business.
- Significant exposure to commercial finance (pricing, contracts, partnerships), resource allocation, and capital efficiency.
- Proven track record driving value creation (margin expansion, ROIC, cash conversion) and cost/productivity programs.
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Financial strategy & planning: Long‑range planning, scenario planning, target setting, and driver‑based forecasting.
- Controllership & reporting: Expert in IFRS (and ideally US GAAP), SOX/internal controls, and statutory requirements.
- Treasury & capital: Liquidity, FX risk management, working capital, capital structure, solvency, and funding strategies.
- Tax awareness: Strong understanding of regional direct/indirect taxes, transfer pricing fundamentals, and effective tax rate drivers (in partnership with Tax).
- M&A/Business cases: Investment appraisal (NPV/IRR), due diligence, integration/separation, and post‑deal value capture.
- Performance management: KPI frameworks, profitability analytics (customer, product, market), and portfolio optimization.
- Regulatory environments: Familiarity with relevant regional regulations (reporting, capital/solvency where applicable, and data/privacy standards).
- People leadership: Built and scaled high‑performing finance teams across multiple countries; succession planning and coaching top talent.
