About Juniper Square
Our mission is to unlock the full potential of private markets. Privately owned assets like commercial real estate, private equity, and venture capital make up half of our financial ecosystem yet remain inaccessible to most people. We are digitizing these markets, and as a result, bringing efficiency, transparency, and access to one of the most productive corners of our financial ecosystem. If you care about making the world a better place by making markets work better through technology – all while contributing as a member of a values-driven organization – we want to hear from you.
Juniper Square offers employees a variety of ways to work, ranging from a fully remote experience to working full-time in one of our physical offices. We invest heavily in digital-first operations, allowing our teams to collaborate effectively across 27 U.S. states, 2 Canadian Provinces, India, Luxembourg, and England. We also have physical offices in San Francisco, New York City, Mumbai and Bangalore for employees who prefer to work in an office some or all of the time.
About Your Role
Business Operations works across every part of the company, designing, building, operating business systems and data infrastructure to instrument business processes and business intelligence to enable the operations and growth of Juniper Square. This work moves the needle at Juniper Square. If you are attracted to understanding and improving systems and processes, are analytical and solution-focused, we want to talk to you.
As a Business Analyst II, you serve as an internal consultant for stakeholders across JSQ. You will turn ambiguous, complex business problems into scalable, technical solutions. Your work ensures that every department has the intelligent operational tooling and data transparency necessary to drive the next phase of Juniper Square’s growth.
What You’ll Do
Business Discovery & Solution Design (approx. 90%)
- Act as an Internal Consultant: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Fund Administration, GPX, People, etc.) to deeply understand their operational friction points.
- Identify AI & Automation Opportunities: Map business processes to identify where Generative AI, LLMs, or traditional automation can reduce manual effort and improve decision-making.
- Define Scalable Solutions: Design high-level technical workflows and functional specs. You aren't just identifying problems; you are proposing the "to-be" state.
- Translate & Document: Create comprehensive BRDs (Business Requirement Documents) and User Stories that translate "business pain" into technical "action items" for our technical teams.
- Drive Alignment: Present ROI-driven solutions to executive leadership, ensuring stakeholders understand the "why" behind technical pivots.
- End-to-End Lifecycle Management: Track implementation from discovery to User Acceptance Training and post-launch optimization.
Business Intelligence & Data Strategy (approx. 10%)
- Data Governance & Hygiene: Partner with CRM and BI teams to ensure the enterprise data model is "AI-ready"—clean, structured, and accessible.
- Strategic Reporting: Design and maintain high-impact dashboards (Tableau/Looker) that track KPIs and provide predictive insights rather than just historical data.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the "source of truth" for enterprise data, performing ad-hoc analysis to spot trends before they become issues.
Qualifications
Attributes:
- Empathetic Curiosity: You ask questions because you want to help the person on the other end, not just check a box.
- Radical Ownership: You dive into unfamiliar domains (like a new API or a specific accounting workflow) and become an expert in them.
- Low Ego, High Velocity: You prioritize "shippable and helpful" over "perfect and late." You thrive on feedback loops.
Professional Experience
- 5+ Years of Experience in Business Analysis, Systems Architecture, or a technical Operations role.
- AI Literacy: Proven experience or a deep interest in applying Generative AI/LLMs to business workflows (e.g., automated sentiment analysis, internal knowledge bots, or predictive lead scoring).
- Advanced Data Toolkit: Expert-level proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and SQL (must be able to query your own data).
- Visualization & CRM: Proficiency in Tableau/Looker and a strong working knowledge of the Salesforce ecosystem (objects, flows, and data relationships).
- SDLC Knowledge: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira/Confluence.
- Process Mapping: Experience with Lucidchart, Visio, or Miro to visualize complex "current vs. future" states.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Python or R for data manipulation.
- Background in FinTech or Private Equity.
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP).
