Position Overview
Our client, a rapidly growing ingredients and wellness company based in the Austin, Texas metro area, is seeking a Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to partner closely with the founders and leadership team as the company enters its next phase of growth.
This executive will provide strategic financial leadership while helping build the financial infrastructure needed to support scaling operations, product expansion, and increased distribution. The CFO will work closely with ownership to strengthen financial visibility, improve decision-making, and position the company for long-term growth.
The role requires a hands-on finance leader who can operate both strategically and operationally, supporting financial planning, capital strategy, and financial process development in a high-growth consumer product environment.
This is a fractional engagement requiring regular on-site presence in the Austin metro area to collaborate closely with leadership and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Serve as the strategic financial advisor to the founders and leadership team.
- Provide financial insights that support growth initiatives, product expansion, and operational scaling.
- Help guide key decisions related to pricing, margin management, and profitability optimization.
- Establish financial frameworks to support long-term strategic planning.
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and long-range planning tools.
- Lead the budgeting and financial planning process across the organization.
- Provide leadership with clear financial reporting and performance insights to support decision-making.
Financial Infrastructure & Process Development
- Evaluate and strengthen the company’s financial reporting systems, controls, and processes.
- Implement scalable financial structures to support continued growth and operational complexity.
- Improve visibility into product profitability, cost structure, and operational performance.
Capital Strategy & Investor Readiness
- Support leadership with capital planning, fundraising readiness, and financial storytelling.
- Prepare financial materials and insights for potential investors, lenders, or strategic partners.
- Help position the company for future investment or strategic growth opportunities.
Operational Finance Support
- Partner with operations and leadership to improve inventory management, supply chain financial visibility, and working capital management.
- Provide insights into cost structure, pricing strategies, and margin improvement opportunities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including CFO or senior finance leadership roles.
- Experience within consumer products, wellness, ingredients, or CPG environments strongly preferred.
- Proven experience working with high-growth or founder-led companies.
- Strong background in financial modeling, forecasting, and operational finance.
- Experience supporting capital raises, investor presentations, or strategic growth initiatives is a plus.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.
