Vice President, Technology Strategy and Business Applications
Overview
- We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Vice President of Technology Strategy and Business Applications to lead the evolution of our technology capabilities in support of continued growth. This role is responsible for aligning technology with business priorities, improving operational effectiveness, and building a scalable foundation of systems, data, and processes.
- The ideal candidate is a business-minded technology leader who has experience operating in smaller, growth-oriented organizations where adaptability, ownership, and practical decision-making are essential. This individual will lead efforts to modernize systems, streamline workflows, and ensure technology enables day-to-day operations while positioning the business for long-term success.
- This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable working close to the business, making decisions with imperfect information, and driving meaningful progress without reliance on large teams or extensive layers of support.
What You’ll Do
- Define and execute a technology strategy aligned with business growth and operational priorities
- Partner directly with executive leadership and functional teams to identify and deliver technology-enabled improvements
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and optimization of core business systems and applications, including ERP and adjacent platforms
- Establish a practical and scalable approach to systems architecture and integrations
- Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency
- Oversee the modernization and rationalization of existing systems and tools
- Ensure effective data management, reporting, and visibility to support decision-making
- Lead vendor selection, negotiations, and ongoing technology partnerships with a focus on value and outcomes
- Establish clear prioritization, governance, and delivery frameworks that enable speed and accountability
- Provide direct guidance on application design, development priorities, and continuous improvement efforts
- Build and lead a high-performing, right-sized team focused on business applications and technology enablement
- Develop KPIs and metrics to measure the impact of technology investments
- Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on technology opportunities and trade-offs
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles
- Demonstrated success operating in small to midsize organizations or similarly dynamic environments
- Experience leading technology initiatives where prioritization, resourcefulness, and execution were critical to success
- Strong background in business systems, applications, and process optimization
- Experience leading or supporting ERP and other core platform initiatives
- Proven ability to operate both strategically and tactically, with a willingness to stay close to execution
- Experience managing budgets and making pragmatic investment decisions
