Chief Financial Officer
The Opportunity
FCA is excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and mission-driven financial leader to join our Executive Leadership Team.
The ideal Chief Financial Officer will play a critical role in shaping FCA’s financial strategy, strengthening financial sustainability, and ensuring strong stewardship of resources in support of our mission. This role requires a seasoned executive with deep nonprofit financial leadership experience, strong business judgment, and the ability to partner closely with the President/CEO, Board of Trustees, and senior leadership team.
Responsibilities
Specifically, the responsibilities and qualifications of the position include:
- Provide strategic financial leadership and oversight for all finance and accounting functions of the organization.
- Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and partner with the President/CEO and Board of Trustees on strategic planning, policy development, and organizational performance.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and long-term financial sustainability planning, including operating and capital budgets.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting for executive leadership, the Board of Trustees, funders, and regulators.
- Lead and oversee audits, tax filings, and all financial compliance activities, ensuring adherence to municipal, state, and federal requirements.
- Oversee risk management, internal controls, and insurance programs to protect organizational assets.
- Provide leadership over grants and contracts management, including budgeting for proposals, contract negotiations, compliance, and financial reporting.
- Oversee revenue cycle management, billing systems, and reimbursement processes across managed care, Medicaid, and other payors.
- Partner with the President/CEO, Chief Development Officer, and other executives on funding strategies, resource development, and stewardship of funds.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Finance team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and service-oriented culture.
- Represent FCA in relationships with financial institutions, funders, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a large, complex organization; nonprofit human services, healthcare, or social services experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience leading audits, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and financial/accounting systems - NETSUITE, required.

- Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License.
Compensation Information
- The competitive compensation range is reflected with FCA’s framework, culture, and values. Individual pay decisions will vary based on skills and experience’ while still allowing for growth.
Additional Information
- Salary: $175,000 – $200,000
- Schedule: (M-F), evening and weekend hours, as needed
- This role is full-time (35 hours/week), Exempt
