Position Overview
A well-established and growing professional services firm is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team. This individual will oversee the firm’s financial operations, provide high-level strategic guidance, and partner closely with executive leadership to help drive continued growth, profitability, and operational excellence. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Midtown Manhattan.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and planning
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on financial performance, growth initiatives, and long-term business objectives
- Oversee preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop and enhance financial controls, policies, and reporting processes
- Monitor key performance indicators and deliver actionable insights to improve business performance
- Manage banking relationships, cash management, and overall treasury functions
- Oversee tax planning, compliance, audits, and coordination with outside accountants and advisors
- Evaluate business opportunities, investments, and operational initiatives from a financial and strategic standpoint
- Partner with leadership on organizational planning, resource allocation, and profitability analysis
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting function, helping build a scalable infrastructure for future growth
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, or senior financial leader within a professional services, advisory, consulting, or similar environment
- Strong background in financial planning and analysis, accounting, reporting, and operational finance
- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment
- Experience partnering with executive leadership and advising on business strategy
- Strong understanding of cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- CPA, MBA, or other relevant advanced credential preferred but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
