Position Overview

The CFO will be responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning. This leader will play a key role in evaluating financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring the organization maintains strong financial controls and compliance standards. This is a fully on-site role in Boston.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and insurance renewals
Lead financial reporting and provide updates to governing members and financial institutions as needed
Develop and execute the organization’s financial strategy, planning, and budgeting processes
Conduct ongoing financial analysis to evaluate performance and identify risks and opportunities
Manage and mentor a small accounting/finance team, setting goals and ensuring accountability
Oversee the annual audit process with external auditors and ensure completion of required filings including IRS Form 990 and DOL Form LM-2
Maintain financial systems and internal controls aligned with Department of Labor best practices for labor unions
Analyze revenue and spending trends and recommend solutions to improve financial performance
Support contract negotiations with third-party vendors and financial partners
