About the Opportunity
A well-established, privately held real estate development and investment firm in the MetroWest area is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial operations and partner closely with ownership on strategic growth initiatives.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a stable, growing organization, offering the opportunity to build, optimize, and scale financial processes while supporting an active portfolio of real estate assets and development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Lead preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and capital planning
- Partner with ownership on strategic planning, investments, and financial decision-making
- Oversee and mentor a small accounting/finance team
- Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements
- Drive process improvements and system efficiencies
- Support project-level financial analysis across development and property operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance leadership roles
- Background in real estate, development, property management, or construction strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
- Strong systems and Excel skills
