This role offers the opportunity to provide senior financial leadership that supports the financial strength and sustainability of Pharmacy - Clinical Shared Services within a complex healthcare environment.
The Role
The CFO, Pharmacy – Clinical Shared Services, is the senior finance leader responsible for enterprise pharmacy financial performance across inpatient and outpatient pharmacy, infusion services, 340B programs, and retail and specialty pharmacy operations. This executive leads the development of short‑ and long‑term financial strategies, identifies growth and optimization opportunities, and ensures disciplined financial execution across a multi‑billion‑dollar portfolio.
The role serves as the single accountable executive for enterprise pharmacy financial performance, including direct P&L responsibility for Credena Health, LLC, alongside oversight of additional pharmacy service lines and programs. The portfolio encompasses complex revenue, inventory, rebate, 340B, and payer dynamics that require strong financial ownership and close operational partnership.

- You will lead the financial strategy, performance management, and value‑creation agenda across Providence’s integrated pharmacy portfolio—spanning acute, ambulatory, infusion, retail/specialty, and 340B/contract pharmacy.

Credena Health is one component of Providence’s broader pharmacy platform. Established in 2015, Credena delivers specialty medications and care nationwide and expanded in 2019 to include community pharmacy services. Credena operates within Providence, a not‑for‑profit health system with a nearly 170‑year legacy, spanning hospitals, clinics, home health services, pharmacies, and health plans.
Across the enterprise, pharmacy services are focused on improving access, affordability, and outcomes for patients. Teams collaborate closely with patients, providers, and payers to address financial considerations, support medication access, and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee development of the budget and integrated strategic financial plan for medical and physician groups, including volumes, revenues, and expenses.
- Review and report on monthly financial statements and variances for divisions.
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations for productivity improvements, cost savings, and revenue enhancement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain benchmarks for financial and operational performance.
- Analyze and review monthly results for risk contracts against annual plans and forecasts.
- Develop, propose, and participate on negotiation teams related to physician compensation arrangements, as applicable.
- Oversee the timely and accurate implementation of physician compensation programs and arrangements, including payments to physicians; respond to and address compensation questions and reporting.
- Represent medical groups and physician services on committees and councils, as appropriate.
- Oversee and coordinate development of pro formas and projections for business ventures and partnerships; propose operational changes and strategies to support decision‑making and budgeting.
- Assist the Regional CFO in working with matrixed shared services functions to drive strategies in areas such as revenue cycle (including coding, audit, and education), physician and professional revenue optimization, supply chain (REH), system physician compensation programs, and payer contracting.
- Lead and oversee physician coding audits, education, and revenue integrity activities across service areas and geographies, as applicable.
- Exercise signature authority on appropriate documents and, in concert with state and/or federal organizations, bind PSJH in accordance with the system authority matrix.
What You’ll Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business‑related field.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business‑related field (preferred).
- Certification
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) upon hire (preferred).
- Experience
- Ten (10) or more years of closely related experience.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in a leadership role or capacity.
