Chief Financial Officer
Job Location- Dehradun / Noida
Role Description
The Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic financial leadership across the Group, with a core mandate centred on Brand-wise Profit & Loss ownership and a robust MIS framework. The CFO will be the single point of accountability for financial clarity at every brand level, enabling leadership to make data-driven decisions on investment, cost optimisation, and growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finance Strategy & Business Partnership
- Develop and implement a Group-level financial strategy aligned to the organisation’s multi-brand growth objectives.
- Act as a strategic business partner to brand heads, providing financial modelling, scenario analysis, and investment appraisal support.
- Drive the annual strategy planning process with brand-level financial targets, KPIs, and capital allocation.
- Provide data-backed recommendations on new brands, brand exits, or portfolio rationalisation.
2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Management
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the Group and each brand, ensuring alignment with business strategy and market realities.
- Develop and maintain rolling forecast models (monthly/quarterly) at brand and Group levels.
- Oversee budgetary control through monthly variance analysis; flag risks and recommend corrective actions in real time.
- Identify cost-efficiency opportunities across brands; lead structured cost-reduction initiatives without compromising brand equity.
- Benchmark operating costs per brand against revenue benchmarks and industry norms.
3. Fund Utilisation and Working Capital
- Optimise the utilisation of financial resources to enhance profitability and liquidity across all brands.
- Closely monitor and manage working capital: brand-wise Debtor Days, Creditor Days, Inventory DOS, and net working capital cycle.
- Establish and enforce credit policies; manage accounts receivable with timely collection follow- up and escalation.
4. Financial Reporting & Statutory Compliance
- Lead the finalisation of books of accounts; ensure all provisions, accruals, and adjustments are accurately captured before close, and books are signed off within agreed timelines
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the Managing Director and Board.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all statutory regulations: GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC filings.
- Oversee statutory, internal, and tax audits; coordinate with auditors to close books within agreed timelines.
5. Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks across the Group and its brands.
- Implement a robust internal control framework; conduct periodic reviews and risk assessments.
- Review and vet all contracts with vendors & customers to protect the Group’s financial interests.
6. Legal & Litigation Management
- Handle financial and legal matters, including litigation against defaulting parties and overdue collections.
- Work closely with legal counsel to manage, resolve, and track disputes impacting the P&L.
7. Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Build, lead, and retain a high-performing finance team structured to support brand-wise P&L and MIS requirements.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and KPIs for finance team members aligned to brand accountability.
- Drive a culture of financial discipline, continuous improvement, and data integrity across the finance function.
- Mentor and develop finance talent to build organisational capability for the long term.
Experience
With 25+ years of experience, of which the last 5 or more should be in leadership positions, preferably in mobility, CE, Distribution or Retail chain company - though this will not be a limiting factor for the right candidate.
