Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Insurance | Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
I'm partnering with a highly profitable, globally backed insurance platform to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for one of its largest and most established divisions in North America.
This is a rare succession-led CFO opportunity, working alongside a long-tenured incumbent before assuming full leadership of a complex, scaled operation.
The Opportunity
- Executive leadership role reporting directly to the Division CEO
- Oversight of a ~35-person finance function covering accounting, reporting, and operational finance
- Ownership of financial reporting across GAAP and Statutory frameworks, with exposure to IFRS at group level
- Lead a business generating multi-billion-dollar premium volumes
- Direct responsibility for financial systems, controls, and reporting infrastructure
- Oversight of Finance, Claims, IT, and HR functions within the division
This is a highly structured, well-controlled environment with strong audit discipline and an established data-driven reporting infrastructure.
Key Priorities
- Lead monthly close, reporting, and financial statement integrity
- Oversee statutory filings (quarterly & annual) and regulatory relationships
- Maintain and enhance controls, audit quality, and governance frameworks
- Partner with the CEO on strategic planning and forward-looking insights
- Support M&A activity, including diligence, valuation, and post-deal integration
- Continue evolution of data-led finance infrastructure and reporting capability
What We Are Looking For
- CPA (essential)
- 15+ years progressive finance leadership experience
- Strong background in insurance or reinsurance accounting (Statutory required)
- Deep expertise across GAAP and regulatory reporting environments
- Exposure to M&A and integration activity
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, flat structure
- Proven ability to lead through influence, not hierarchy
- Experience across Life, Health, or P&C insurance all considered relevant.
Leadership & Culture
- High-calibre, tenured team with deep institutional knowledge
- Emphasis on collaboration, humility, and problem-solving
- Strong track record of clean audits and regulatory credibility
- CFO succession is planned and supported, not reactive
Compensation & Location
- Highly competitive base salary commensurate with the role with significant annual bonus + long-term incentives on top.
- Atlanta, GA. Hybrid: 4 days in-office. Relocation support available
